Entropia Universe 12.2.1 Release Notes
Entropia Universe 12.2.0 Release Notes
Make Up is back!
The make up system is now fully reimplemented, with some nifty new features to boot!
To apply make up to a Make Up Mask you need the mask itself and make up like e.g. Face Paint, Lipstick and Eye shadow (all referred to as brushes). You can however practice using brushes without the mask.
You can start a make up session on yourself from the context menu of any make up-related item in the inventory or use the "Start Make Up" action.
To make sure your make up mask will look good on another avatar, you can request a make up session by right-clicking him/her and selecting "Start Make Up" from the context menu or aiming at him/her and use the "Start Make Up" action.
To end a session, close the Make Up panel or use the "Abort Make Up Session" action.
The Make Up panel is shown when a session is started and has controls for brush size and Undo/Redo. Actions such as Increase/Decrease Brush Size are mapped under Action Set 6 as default (if you don't want to reset your action settings, you need to map them manually). The camera will automatically zoom in on the target avatar's face when a session is started.
During a make up session, brushes can now be selected by double-clicking on the brush item in the Inventory.
You can also drag brushes to the Keyboard Map/Desktop like a normal tool or garment for quicker access.
Simply press the left mouse button to apply the selected make up where desired.
Not happy with those last brushstrokes? Use the buttons in the Make Up panel or Ctrl+Z/Ctrl+Y to undo/redo your work.
The cost for applying make up to a Make Up Mask is, as before, based on the materials used and the transfer (upload) cost of the finished texture.
Once make up is applied to a mask, it cannot be removed.
Finished Make Up Masks can be traded via auction or private trade.
So go ahead, gather your masks and brushes and get creative!

- The disciple's skill progress is based on the sum of the skills: Anatomy, Geology and Engineering. The starting progress is your current skill when you start. You also have to get three achievements: Team hunt with your mentor, Disciple mining and Disciple hunting.
- A disciple will have the opportunity to rate the mentor when graduating.
- Both mentor and disciple get gifts if the disciple graduates successfully.
- Disciples and mentors from the old system will automatically be converted to the new implementation.
Space
Space has been rescaled. Vehicle speed and fuel consumption has been adjusted to better fit the new conditions.
Warp Speed
To improve possibilities of traveling over the increased distances, we invented a warp drive device, that you can add to the vessels engineering interface. The warp drive device will deteriorate with every use independently of distance traveled.
- Activate warp drive from pilot seat.
- Select any position in space you want to travel to.
- The ship prepares for warp speed for 30 seconds. If being attacked, or attacking, during this period, the warp speed will abort.

- Home visualization in the Map UI is updated more often for motherships. This location can be viewed by mothership guests and mothership deed managers no matter where they are.
- As a passenger in a mothership, privateer or if you are on a space station, you can now see where the ship (or space station) is located in space in the Map UI. Remember to select Space in the Map UI drop-down list.
- When destroying a small vessel, the avatar's hit points are reduced to 10.
- As a holder of a deed for privateer/mothership you are now allowed to enter the ship without claiming it.
- Fixed issues with crosshair in mothership's gunner seat.
Ammo Types Conversion
Light, Medium and Heavy Weapon Cells have been merged into a single type. The same goes for BLP Packs. All existing stacks have been converted.
General improvements and fixed issues
- Team loot rules now work as intended for space PVP battles.
- Fixed problem with history graph showing the wrong date.
- You now only get credited for creatures killed by you in wave spawn events.

SpaceShip Reputation System
Fierce space mobs are added and karma points can now also be gained when killing them. This awards bad karma for bad ships and good karma for good and neutral ships.
Team Features
When shooting at a member of your own team or force you will receive a damage text saying "Friendly Fire" next to the damage number.
Vega Class Privateer
All hangar managers will now find one Vega Class Privateer Deed each in their Inventory. This is a mid-sized transport vessel.
The vessels can be found docked at the space stations outside Planet Calypso, Crystal Palace and FOMA Fortuna.
Tip! To find the ship, either teleport to it from the space station it is docked to or use the waypoint function in the Map UI: open the Map UI for space and select the H icon. Click on the marker for the Privateer to get a waypoint.
Guests Entering Privateer
The pilot and passengers on a small ship (Sleipnir or Quad-Wing Interceptor) can board a Vega Class Privateer, by right clicking on it and choosing Operate. However, you need to be on the guest list for this, so if you are not send a request to be added to the list.
Enhancements and Modifications
You can enhance the status of a Vega Class Privateer in the following ways:
Restore SI. Restore the ship's health (SI value) at the SI repair sections. The ship is divided into two sections: reactor and propulsion. When the ship is hit, those sections are damaged, and repaired, separately.
SI Management - increase max SI value. In the SI management terminal you can increase the maximum SI value by adding minerals. Such an increase will also restore the ship's health to this new maximum value. Both the pilot and a guest can perform this procedure.
Engineering - modify functions. If you are the Vega Class Privateer manager you can modify and upgrade its functions by adding different devices, that can, for example, affect number of available gunner positions. You can do this through the Engineering UI, that you open by operating the Engineering panel.
Note that the engineering devices can be used on both privateers and motherships.
Voice Chat
- Extended the range for hearing people talk up to 50 meters in proximity chat.
- Displaying an overhead icon when someone speaks, which also reflects the sound level.
- Proximity Voice Chat is enabled by default for new participants.
- Push To Talk is enabled by default for new participants, mapped to default key V.
- Voice teams can now be set to private, meaning the team will not be heard in proximity voice chat.
- Added action Push to Proximity. This can be used if you are in a private voice team and wish to temporarily speak to a non-team member in proximity voice chat.

- When upgrading a ship's SI you will get the following information in the Main Chat: total SI and amount of SI per part.
- Fixed issue where it was possible to shoot and kill from MS gun turret in 30s after entering gunner seat, both in PvP and non-PvP.
- You can now teleport between space station and mothership hangar, even if you have not been at the target destination before. Note that this requires that the mothership is docked to the space station and to teleport to the mothership you have to be either the mothership manager or on the guest list.
- The correct amount of PED will now be drawn when teleporting from Crystal Palace or FOMA Fortuna to a Planet Calypso.
Note: When in driver or gunner seat in mothership or privateer, use the action Exit to leave the seat for the ship interior.
Known Issues
- The target markers on avatars and NPCs are a bit misplaced, at breast-hight instead of above the head.
- The sight for the weapons in the two gunner seats next to the pilot in the privateer aims a bit low due to a misconstruction. Repairation technicians have been contacted.
- There is a new action in the Action Book, not yet completely implemented (Set Team Target).

Entropia Universe 12.0.0 Release Notes
Finally, the day has come for us to release space into Entropia Universe!
Mainly, these notes contain information about new space features, but also about current systems that have been changed and are affected by space.
Space
In introducing the Space system, we are taking a big step forward towards the goal of having a complete universe. You can now travel through and in space with the spaceships that we reintroduce. The space connects all planets in one universe and traveling between them in spaceships replaces the interplanetary teleporters. This system introduces new dynamics to the intergalactic trade which will give meaning and strength to the local planet market.
However, take care and travel safely; the whole space, except in the parking zones outside the space stations, is a lootable PvP area where you can battle your opponents.
The main space concepts are presented in these notes, but you should also check out the Beginner's Guide for some basic instructions, http://www.entropiauniverse.com/entropia-universe/beginners-guide/space-guide:
- Space Traveling and Navigation
- Entering and Leaving Motherships and Other Ships
- Utilizing New Motherships
- Mothership Enhancements or Modifications
- Defending and Destroying Motherships
Space Traveling
Each planet has a space station located just outside their stratosphere. You can dock a spaceship there or teleport yourself to a planet. Note that teleporting from a space station to a planet is a one-way transfer. You can also leave space by flying with a small spaceship towards a planet, currently only with either the Quad-Wing Interceptor or Sleipnir with a space thruster attached to it. The thruster is a small propulsive device used to facilitate speed travel. It is necessary when breaking through the stratosphere in both directions.
Note: When a thruster's health point is 10% from 0 you need to repair it (UL) to be able to use it or replace it (L). In space you can find repair stations on space stations and in motherships.
The only way to reach space from a planet is by flying there with a small spaceship (currently either the Quad-Wing Interceptor or Sleipnir with thruster attached to it). However, you can teleport from FOMA Fortuna's and Crystal Palace's hangars to Planet Calypso for a fee.
When you fly back and forth between planets and space you will travel through a teleportation sphere. The stratosphere is 1000 meters up from the planets's surfaces and you enter the teleportation sphere at 1100 meters. Each planet has predefined landing areas for spaceships, where you will be teleported to when leaving space for a planet.
Compared to ships flying in the planets' atmosphere the ships flying in space can collide with each other.
Tip! You do not need the thruster to fly in space, so you can hitchike with someone else from a planet to a space station. Then spawn a VTOL from your Inventory and cruise around yourself.
Custom Waypoints
Added support for custom waypoints in Map UI. See Beginner's Guide for further information.
Landing Fee on Planets
Each time you enter a planet's atmosphere the pilot will be charged a fee of 2 PED.
Teleportation Fee from Space to Planets
Each time you teleport from space to a planet you will be charged a fee of 7 PED.
No Interplanetary Teleportation
With the introduction of space and spacecrafts, teleportation between planets is disabled and traveling through space is the way to go instead. However, it is possible to teleport from FOMA Fortuna's hangar to Planet Calypso for a fee of 25 PED and from Crystal Palace's hangar to Planet Calypso for a fee of 17,5 PED.
SpaceShip Overview
Current spaceship types:
- Aniara Class Mothership
- Quad-Wing Interceptor (Medium Fighter) - requires attached thruster to travel between planets and space
- Sleipnir (VTOL)- requires attached thruster to travel between planets and space
Guest Lists
A passenger can only enter a spaceship when on the guest list.
In general, adding and removing guests from a guest list of a spaceship is similar to the current vehicle guest list behavior.
There are some major differences between managing a guest list on a mothership or a smaller ship. On motherships, the manager can remove a passenger from the guest list, during a flight. The passenger will then enter space and die a slow space death and be revived at the nearest available space station.
Avatars can request to be added to the mothership's guest list and the manager can accept or deny from wherever he or she is at. However, to add a guest without a request, requires that the manger is on board the mothership and opens the Guest List UI. Then the manager can only add avatars already added to his or her Friend List.
On smaller spaceships, passengers removed from the guest list will not be automatically removed from the ship. They have to leave the ship themselves or log out, and will not be able to enter it again. Adding guests to the guest list is done from outside the ship, just as for previous vehicles.
Motherships
Motherships are extremely large vessels that can take both crew and many passengers as well as small ships. When not in use they remain where they are located.
It is not possible to drop items inside a mothership.
The following terminals and items are standard equipment on motherships:
- Battle Stations
- Engineering UI
- Fuel Containers
- Guest List Terminal
- Repair Terminals
- Revive Terminal
- SI Management Controls
- SI Repair Sections for the mothership
- Teleporter used for teleportation to space stations
- Televators
- Trade Terminals
Mothership Enhancements or Modifications
You can enhance the status of a mothership in the following ways:
- Restore SI. Restore the ship's health (SI value) at the SI repair sections.
- Increase max SI Value. In a mothership's SI management terminal you can increase the maximum SI value by adding minerals. Such an increase will also restore the ship's health to this new maximum value.
- Modify mothership functions. If you are the mothership manager you can modify and upgrade the mothership functions by adding different devices, that can, for example, affect number of available gunner positions. You can do this through the Engineering UI.
Note: Currently, these devices will not deteriorate but will do so when the reactor system has been further developed.
Defending and Destroying a Mothership
A mothership has several gunner seats where you can help defending the ship you are on, that is, if you are a guest with gunner rights. The ship is divided in several sections with separate SI values. A damaged section can be repaired from the inside, but when one section is destroyed, the complete mothership is destroyed.
From inside the ship you can see when each section's health changes, either from hits or from reparation. Both the interior and the section's health bar is updated accordingly.
A destroyed mothership will be transferred to the closest available space station as will its crew and passengers. Each participant will be revived at the space station.
Communication
The force channel in the Main Chat can be used to only chat with passengers and crew within the mothership you are on.
Other Ships
Smaller ships, currently Sleipnir and Quad-Wing Interceptor, can travel both in space and at planet level, but for entering and leaving space they need to have a thruster attached to them.
When in space, if you have a spaceship (that is not a mothership) spawned and you leave it unattended for a time or if the ship is destroyed or if you die in space, it will be returned to your Inventory. The Recall all vehicles action also recalls all space vehicles to your Inventory. Note that when you are on a planet, all vehicles (spaceships as well as ground vehicles) are returned to a Storage Facility instead of the Inventory.
Death in Space
If you die in space you will be revived at the nearest valid revive terminal, which can be on a space station or a mothership. Note that if you are still on the guest list of the mothership you last visited and it is located on the same space server as where you died, this is where you will be revived.
Looting Ships and Avatars
The whole space, except in the parking zones outside the space stations, is a lootable PvP area where you can battle your opponents. To loot one or several avatars, after you have destroyed the ship, you have to kill them during the time the avatars are floating around in space - before they choke and return to a revive terminal. You can see the avatars from the markers visible above them.
Note that you can now loot the destroyed vehicle's Inventory.
SpaceShip Reputation System
A spaceship can have a reputation, either as a good or evil ship. The total reputation point is based on both the ship's karma and the captain's and crew's skill; passengers' skills do not count.
Karma points are valid for spaceships only and currently there is only one way to gain karma for a ship: by killing other ships.
Good or Evil Ship
Your first karma action in a new spaceship with neutral reputation gives the ship its basic reputation as good or evil. Currently this can only be set when destroying another ship:
- A neutral ship destroying any other ship becomes evil.
- A neutral ship destroying an evil ship becomes good.
After the initial reputation is set you can continue to increase these points and aim for a grand title for the ship by destroying other ships.
What you should do to continue to gain evil karma for the ship:
- Destroying good ships.
What you should do to continue to gain good karma:
- Destroying evil ships.
Blueprints
You can find blueprints for constructing spaceships, space thrusters, welding wire and engineering devices.
Professions and Skills
New professions:
- Captain Profession
- Gunner Profession
New skills:
- Pilot
- Space craft engineering
- Deep space knowledge
- Space craft systems

The following vehicle actions are disabled in a mothership:
- Next Seat
- Previous Seat
The following vehicle action is disabled when flying in space with a spaceship that is not a mothership:
- Exit Vehicle

MindForce Restriction in Space
Mindforce teleportation, including wormhole, cannot be used on motherships or space stations.
No Interplanetary Teleportation
With the introduction of space and spacecrafts, teleportation between planets is disabled and traveling through space is the way to go instead. However, it is possible to teleport from FOMA Fortuna's hanger to Planet Calypso for a fee of 25 PED and from Crystal Palace's hangar to Planet Calypso for a fee of 17,5 PED.
Planet Bound Auctions
To further spur the interplanetary travel and economy, the auctions will be bound to each planet. This means that you can still view auctions on all planets, but for you to place a bid on an auction or collect an item, you have to be on the specific planet.
Items that MindArk put up for auction, such as the motherships after this release, will be universal. These auctions can be bid on and the items collected from all planets having an auctioneer.
Tip! As a spaceship manager, remember to keep an eye on supply and demand for various goods on different planets; you will have the opportunity to retain the interplanetary trade balance.
PvP Loot
In space and in contaminated zones you can now loot the destroyed vehicle's Inventory.
Vehicle Repair Tool
The vehicle repair tool that you have used to repair vehicle's SI value can also be used on the new spaceships and the mothership interior. However, this tool now requires welding wire to function.
Known Issues
Note that if you want to travel into space make sure you download space content before going there!
Issues with Workaround
- If you are summoned to a mothership in space, and accept, but have not downloaded space content you might experience problems. Try to solve it by logging in again and downloading space.

New Features
Several new features are included in this release:
- Voice Chat Expansion and Updates
- Push to Talk
- Markers
- Mining Update
- In-World Support Service
Voice Chat Expansion and Updates
In 11.3.0 we released the first part of the Voice Chat system that is developed through a collaboration between MindArk and Ericsson. Today we release the second part with the following expansions:
- Proximity Voice Chat. This is included in the Basic Voice Package which is a voice chat based on proximity, available for all participants for free.
- Create a voice team (Premium Voice Package).
...and more voice chat features are in the pipeline.
Basic Voice Package - Proximity Voice Chat
By using the Basic Voice Package you will be able to speak and listen to other participants in your vicinity. The participants' sound volume will differ depending on how close you are to them. Also, you can hear which direction the sound is coming from.
This feature is disabled by default, but you can easily activate it:
- In the Main Chat UI, use the volume icon as a button to open the Options UI for Voice Chat settings.
- Select Enable Proximity Voice.
- Accept the changes and close the Options UI.
Premium Voice Package
The Premium Voice Package includes the following features:
- Private Voice Chat, where you call people on your Friend List when you are in-world.
Note: The participant you are calling must also have the Premium Voice package. - Create a voice team with a maximum of 6 members, including yourself.
- Increased sound quality, compared to the Basic Voice Package. This affects the sound quality when listening to other participant's proximity speech, no matter which voice package they are using.
Team Voice Chat
With a voice team you can hear the whole team, as if they are within 2 meters from you, even if they are spread out over different planets in Entropia Universe.
Note: You can only initiate a voice team if you subscribe to Premium Voice Package or Premium Voice Team Package+. However, the rest of the members only need the Basic Voice Package.
If you are in a Voice Team and target one of your members, you can see if that member has their microphone and loudspeaker activated or not.
You will still be able to hear other participants based on their distance to you and they can hear you in the same way.
Premium Voice Team Package+
The Premium Voice Package can be upgraded to Premium Voice Team Package+ which includes the following features:
- Create a voice team with a maximum of 12 members, including yourself.
- All features in the Premium Voice Package.
Subscription
The subscription is based on a fee that is paid in beforehand, allowing free usage of the system for the coming 30-day period. At any time you can choose to deactivate the fee-based services and then that subscription is put on hold. You can either downgrade a service or select the free Basic Voice Package in the Desired Service option.
If you have a valid subscription of the current Voice Chat service, you will access the Premium Voice Package for the rest of the 30-day period. After that, if you wish to continue using the Premium Voice Package you have to activate that subscription. Otherwise you will only have access to the Basic Voice Package.
Note! The Voice Chat does not longer have its own PED balance. From now on, if you have accepted a fee-based voice service, your subscription fee is drawn directly from your PED Card. If you wish to pause your subscription you need to actively do so.
Basic Voice Package
The Basic Voice Package is available for all participants without any subscription fees.
Premium Voice Package
The regular subscription fee for the Premium Voice Package is 15 PED per 30 days.
Premium Voice Team Package+
The regular subscription fee for the Premium Voice Team Package+ is 10 PED per 30 days.
Note: The Premium Voice Team Package+ is an add-on to the Premium Voice Package. Therefore, a subscription to the Premium Voice Team Package+ also requires a subscription to the Premium Voice Package.
Main Chat
Three icons are added to the Main Chat due to the addition of the Basic Voice Package:
- Loudspeaker icon: Button to enable and disable incoming voice sound. As default, when you log in, the loudspeaker is always enabled.
- Microphone icon: Button to enable and disable your microphone. As default, when you log in, the microphone is always enabled.
- Volume icon: Button to open the Options UI for Voice Chat settings. This icon also indicates the outgoing voice level.
Communicator
The Communicator UI is used for selecting service type and setting up payment for selected services.
- Current Service - Displays the highest service currently activated.
- Time Until Renewal - Displays the number of days and hours until your subscription needs to be renewed.
- Desired Service - Roll-down menu with available services. This is also where you can deactivate a subscription.
- Fee - Fee, in PED, for selected service in Desired Service.
- Package Details - Information about what is included in service selected in Desired Service
Bandwidth Connection Settings
If you want or need to change your bandwidth settings you will now do it through the Tools in the Client Loader.
Note: The voice chat is affected by your bandwidth settings. For efficient use while using voice chat we recommend 256 kb/s-1Mb/s.
Genesis
Genesis, the starting area for new account holders, also has free proximity voice chat.
Push to Talk
You can use the feature Push to Talk to actively choose when your microphone is on. This way you won't constantly transmit your background noise.
Enable (or disable) Push to Talk in the Options for voice chat. You find the action Push to Talk in the Action Library and then you can choose to bind it to a key on a keyboard set.
Markers
Vehicle Markers
Each spawned vehicle now has a marker placed above it when you have it in your field of vision. When the vehicle is located outside your field of vision the marker is placed on the border of the Desktop. The marker's size corresponds to how far away the vehicle is, the larger the marker is the closer the vehicle is to you.
Note: You can only see vehicle markers when you are sitting in a vehicle yourself.
By default, the whole marker is blue. The bottom part of the marker can have a different color to reflect your relation to the vehicle driver:
- Light blue - The vehicle driver is in the same team as you are.
- Green - The vehicle driver is your friend (on your Friend List).
- Dark blue - The vehicle driver is in the same s ociety as you are.
- Yellow - The vehicle driver is in the same force as you are.
Targeting Participants and Creatures
Additional information visible when you target other participants:
- Effect over time. You will see if the targeted participant is affected by any MindForce effect that lasts over time.
- Grace period. You will see "Arrival Safe" when targeting a participant during his or her grace period.
Additional information visible when targeting creatures:
- Effect over time. You will see if the targeted creature is affected by any MindForce effect that lasts over time.
- Danger level. Each creature's danger level is set in relation to other creatures' levels.
- Unreachable. Creatures will have unreachable state visible if they are unreachable.
Mining Update
All bombs, all mining amplifiers, all detectonators, all excavators and all refiners can now be used to find, extract and refine any type of resource.
Note: The new refiner tool also includes tailoring refining.
When you search for resources it is possible to configure what kind of resource to search for. Therefore, the detectonator UI is now opened as long as you have it equipped. You can also search for more than one type of resource concurrently. This will require the amount of bombs needed for selected resources and the tool will be deteriorated accordingly.
Any gained experience while using mentioned tools will be in the profession related to the found resource.
Background
Considering earlier input and future expansions on the mining system we have merged several individual tools within the same usage span into one tool instead of separate tools. The goal with doing this is to simplify the usage of them. With the merge you will have to carry less tools and you don´t need to switch so often at the same time as you can search for a wider range of resources.
Since we aim to expand the mining system with more items and categories along with our Planet Partners, the old system did not scale well and the complexity would be excessive. You can already see some new indications in-world of what is coming.
To maintain the balance when doing this merge we have thoroughly evaluated each individual tool's characteristics, considered market value and blueprints. All in all we believe that these changes are necessary and will make the system easier and more powerful to use, providing a flexible, viable and stable part of the foundation in the Entropia Universe economy.
Note that the tier levels on mining tools are maintained.
In-World Support Service
You can now open a support center UI in-world and handle your support cases through it. This functions just as the web interface for support cases, which means you can create cases, check both your active and closed ones and communicate with support through here. However, if you wish to upload files to explain your support case you have to submit your support case through the support web site.
Improvements and Fixed Issues
Health Points
- When you increase or decrease your maximum health points, you will receive a notification.
- When clicking on a Health Update Notification the Skill UI is opened with the Attribute category selected.
Max Caried Weight

- You won't be able to drop items when in a vehicle anymore.

Known Issues
- The voice chat sound quality can be negatively affected when driving in a vehicle.
- If you activate a subscription for the Premium Voice Package, and previously had the Basic Voice Package, the voice chat will be silent for around 3 seconds and then it will be back again.
- Known issue affecting support cases sent from Calypso and Next Island in-world or to them on the web: the in-world and web support portals are separate, meaning that you cannot see support cases sent from in-world on the web and vice versa.
- Known issue due to the merge of mining blueprints:
If you have two blueprints, one for ore and one for enmatter, of the same type in a blueprint book they will be converted to two similar blueprints. One will be left in the book, while the other one will be extracted to your Inventory. However, note that the quality ratings might differ between them.

New Features
Landgrab Battles are Back!
Once again it is possible to gather your society and fight for the control of a land area. These battles will be more frequent than before, and also have a new twist.
Each land area that can be taken over by a society has a fort on it. If the area is managed by a society when a battle is started, they can try to defend the fort for a given time period. If successful, they will keep the land area for another management period (around a week).
However, if the attackers manage to destroy the fort's main control room, the Land Area Marker is unlocked. Any society can then claim (Operate) this marker and try to defend it with their lives. They need to keep at least one society member alive within a 30-meter range of the marker until the given time period expires. The society that achieves this wins the battle and can manage the land area until the next Landgrab battle.
For info about upcoming Landgrab battles check the Landgrab tab in the Event List (under System in the action menu).
Managing a Land Grab Area
Unlike other land areas that can be managed the land grab areas does not require fertlizers to be able to spawn creatures.
Fort Event Battles
Now it is possible to fight between Forts in the Ticket Event system with the new Most Fort Points Win rule.
If two forts are located within an event area it is possible to start Fort Events. Join one of the forces and wait for the event to start.
May the best force win!
Basic Battle Rules
When the event starts you will automatically be placed in the fort that your force needs to defend. Take part in the offensive actions and attack the other fort or stay and defend your home fort. You can spawn vehicles, mount the Fort Defense Turrets or be part of the infantry - all in the interest of winning this battle.
Use the Force chat channel to communicate strategies and tactics within your force.
Follow the objectives and try to get deep inside the enemy fort. There you will find important objectives to destroy. If you destroy the Main Control Room of the enemy fort, the current battle round is won and a new round of fort battle will begin.
During Fort Events, ammo burn is 10% of the ammo burn at regular usage and deterioration is also 10% of its normal value. Such low deterioration value is valid for weapons (including attack/strike MindForce chips), FAPs (including healing MindForce), armor, vehicles, repair kits, MindForce speed/slow and focus chips.
Friend or Foe
Units are color-marked to easily see who is in your force and who is in the enemy force. Red units are enemies and should be attacked, while green or yellow units are friendly and should be defended, healed or repaired. These colors are used on objectives, your targets, status bars and on the radar.
Force Points
Your force gathers Force Points by destroying parts of the enemy fort, taking out enemy vehicles and killing enemy avatars. Depending on the importance of the destroyed objects or the SI of the destroyed vehicles, your force will receive different amounts of Force Points.
You can also gain Force Points by repairing destroyed fort parts (those that can be repaired), such as destroyed Defense Turrets.
Participant Points
You receive Participant Points by damaging enemy structures, vehicles and avatars, healing friendly avatars and repairing friendly vehicles and structures.
Winning
The fort battle is won by the force that has received the most Force Points when the defined event time expires.
Reward
- Force reward: If your force wins, all members of your force will share the PED value of the accumulated ammo and deterioration used by BOTH forces during the battle. The winnings will be divided among the force members depending on how much Participant Points each participant have gathered.
- Individual reward: The event rules can be set to award the top three participants in the winning force.
Radar and Dashboard
- Radar UI and Dashboard UI are decoupled now and can be placed anywhere on the screen.
- Radar UI can be resized.
- Added icons to the Radar UI. The icons present details of the area you are currently at. Area properties you can view are if the area is a PVP zone, is toxic, and allows vehicles or you to enter. These icons can be viewed in three levels (colors): green, yellow or red.
- For pvp/toxic: green means the current area is pvp/toxic free, yellow means you are close to a pvp/toxic area and red means you are currently in a pvp/toxic area.
- For you/vehicles: green means that you/vehicles are allowed in current area, yellow means you are close to area that does not allow you/vehicles, red means that you/vehicles are not allowed in current area.

We now have support for content download while logged in; you can log in to one planet while downloading other planets' content.
The dynamic content distribution has the following characteristics that you can control as described:
- Prioritizing download at content releases: At new content releases the content download is divided into two parts: first required content (general content, needed for all planets) and then planet-specific content. The Launch button will be enabled after all the required content has been downloaded. Click the Launch button and log in to prioritize content download of the planet you are located on.
- Log in during download: You will be able to log in to the client when required content and the additional content related to the planet you are located on has been downloaded completely, even though other planets might still not be finished downloaded.
- Default download behavior: The default download behavior is that only the planetary system you are located on is downloaded automatically. Within that planetary system one planet is downloaded at a time.
- Manually handle download behavior: In the Map UI - now the Navigator UI - you can prioritize the download order for each planet and choose to disable or enable download of each planet. You can also check which planets that are finished downloaded and which are not.
- Pause/Start download: Once logged on you can check the download status in the Download UI. In this UI you can also pause the download and restart it. By default, this UI is open as long as the client is still being downloaded, but you can choose to minimize it.

New Features
Dynamic Content Distribution Release Step 1
The Entropia Universe content is continually increasing due to the expansion of Entropia Universe. This makes it necessary to make the download process smoother.
In this release, we have implemented the Dynamic Content Distribution, step 1. The overall download process has been optimized to achieve faster download speed of a new release as well as faster download speed of the full client compared to previous behavior. The optimization mainly consists of new technology that enables accelerated download and the introduction of dynamic download.
In the Client Loader tools (click the Tools button in the bottom right corner, next to the Launch button), there is a new tab, called Folders. Here you can choose the folder to where the Entropia Universe content will be dynamically downloaded. The default folder setting is designed to work well with Windows Vista and Windows 7 UAC as well as with Windows XP.
Note: If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 and have installed Entropia Universe to Program Files - as default, all game content will be moved to your local public folder (i.e. "c:\users\public\Entropia Universe"). If you want to keep your client in Program Files, perform the following instructions:
- Click the Tools button in the Client Loader (next to the Launch button).
- Select the Folders tab.
- Select desired Content Folder (type path or use Browse).
- Click Ok. The download will start over.
There will be a Dynamic Content Distribution step 2, that will improve the download process further. For example, there will be support for content download while logged in; you can log in to one planet while downloading other planets' content.

Entropia Universe 11.3.1 Release Notes
The updates in this release are described in the Entropia Universe 11.3.0 Release Notes.
Entropia Universe 11.3.0 Release Notes
New Features and Additions
The new features and additions are detailed below this list:
- Voice Chat System
- Vehicle Additions
- Social Media Interconnect Services
Voice Chat System
Communication between participants is a key component of life in Entropia Universe, and it is now getting even better with the introduction of Voice Chat. MindArk is cooperating with Ericsson to create a service unique to Entropia Universe with advanced functionality that integrates into the game play on the planets. In a first step this enables secure voice communication between participants; you can voice chat with avatars on your Friend List as well as others you encounter in-game.
The Voice Chat system that is launched in this release is a first small step in a much bigger project to enhance the communication interface for our participants and Planet Partners. Examples of future functionality are proximity-sensitive chatting and a variety of call-out services. Proximity is used for 3D voice chat and takes distance and topology into account, adding to the experience of environmental interaction and when groups of avatars are chatting. With the call-out services it will be possible for an avatar to call outside Entropia Universe and vice versa.
- Added voice chat actions in the Friend List UI and in the Avatar context menu.
- Added adjusting options for voice chat devices and volume in the Options UI.
For legal terms regarding the Voice Chat system see Voice Communication Service - Terms of Use.
Quality and Performance
Since long it has been a goal for MindArk to implement voice chat in Entropia Universe. For the past two years we have evaluated different options, looking at how this could be achieved without making bandwidth an issue as well as assuring that such a system will be a strong fundament for future development in this area. In order to support a focus on the game play MindArk has collaborated with Ericssonto develop a gate from Entropia Universe to Ericsson's communication system, enabling a clear focus on quality and a strategy for sustained long term development.
We have put great effort into making this a system with the following qualities:
- Anonymity. You only have to see an avatar or have them on your Friend List to be able to suggest voice chat with anyone - and all they see is your Entropia Universe alias.
- Security. All voice traffic is sent via Ericsson's servers to avoid revealing your IP address to the other part.
- Privacy. Other participants cannot listen to a private conversation (a conversation between a restricted amount of participants).
- Easy access. The service is available directly through your Entropia Universe account with no need to download a 3rd party client.
- Tailor made for Entropia Universe. To enhance the Entropia Universe experience this system is tailor made to fit the conditions in Entropia Universe.
- Stable network. The Voice Chat is a reliable service with redundant bandwidth capability.
Implementing above qualities means heavy investments and use of external resources. Therefore, the Voice Chat services are available for a subscription fee, see the Subscription Fee section below. However, it is important to MindArk to minimize the cost of using this system for each individual participant. Although this already is a premium service it will be launched at a reduced and low cost, see the Release Offers section below.
Subscription Fee
The regular subscription fee is 10 PED, however, see the release offers below.
Note: The subscription is based on a fee that is paid in beforehand, allowing free usage of the system for the coming 30-day period. At any time you can choose to not continue to pay this fee and the subscription is put on hold.
Release Offers
- If you, before starting to use the Voice Chat, have made a deposit or will make one, between August 29, 2010 and October 28, 2010 you will get your first 30 days of Voice Chat for free!
- The cost is reduced to 8 PED per 30-day period, during the first 90 days of operation.
Vehicle Additions
This release presents three new types of vehicles: hovercraft, boat and VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing).
The new VTOL aircraft will safely take you up in the sky where you can watch the world from new angles. This is the first step towards opening up the hangars and making the space ships airborne, which will happen in the near future.
Do you prefer the water? Hop on the boat and take some quick turns while enjoying the water splashing all around you.
The hovercraft is functional on both land and water. Weapon assembly is available for the hovercraft just as for the already introduced cars.
Tip! Take care of the vehicles and be careful! Collisions can now damage them. However, you can lessen the damage by staying seated even when the going gets tough; the damage is greater without any crew seated at all. Note that only the SI is affected by collisions, not vehicle deterioration.
Actions and their default control mappings for airborne vehicles:
- Move up - Left Shift (new key mapping). Alternatively, hold left and right mouse buttons down and move mouse forwards.
- Move down - Left Ctrl (new key mapping). Alternatively, hold left and right mouse buttons down and move mouse backwards.
- Strafe Left - A
Note: For airborne vehicles, this action results in left rotation. - Strafe right - D
Note: For airborne vehicles, this action results in right rotation. - Rotate left - Z. Alternatively hold left and right mouse buttons down and move to the left.
Note: For airborne vehicles, this action results in left strafe. - Rotate right - C. Alternatively hold left and right mouse buttons down and move to the right.
Note: For airborne vehicles, this action results in right strafe. - Move Forwards - W. Alternatively hold left and right mouse buttons down.
- Move Backwards - S
- Auto move - R.
Control mappings for ground and water vehicles are the same as for the already included cars. The following default control mappings are added:
- Move Forwards - Hold left and right mouse buttons down. (Previous default key mapping, W, is still vaild.)
- Auto move - R. Added possibility for automatic driving, using the R key. This functions in the same way as when using R for automatic running or walking.
- Vehicle Inventory will now be closed at vehicle recalling.
- Added range limit to vehicle action Pick Up.
- Vehicles will physically move when hit by explosion from, for example, grenade launcher.
- Improved explosion effect when a vehicle is destroyed.
- Added control information in the vehicles' Item Info.
- Creatures don't attack flying vehicles.
Interconnect Services
Implemented Interconnect services for Social Media services in order to help participants communicate beyond the community that exists in-game. At this moment the services include posting in-game events relating to your Avatar to the Facebook and Twitter channels. For further information, log in to "My Account" through your planet web site.
For legal terms regarding the Interconnect Services see Entropia Universe Interconnect Services – Terms and conditions (T&C).
In addition to this service Entropia Universe now has a Twitter channel: http://twitter.com/EntropiaNews

Entropia Universe 11.2.0 Release Notes
The 11.2.0 Release Notes contains information on the new Vehicle system and, below that, information on general improvements and fixed issues in this release. Additionally, some information on the upcoming expansion of the Vehicle system is included last.
They are fast and they are awesome - vehicles are now available in Entropia Universe!
Take your friends on a road trip, cruising through the varied landscapes of the different planetary systems. Take a joyride along the coast or through the inland, quickly reaching remote locations. Drive through PvP zones, sneak up on opponents in a pimped military car, and crush all resistance.
With this new Vehicle system, the whole community now has the opportunity to build vehicles. Some basic functions and features in this system are described here, but there are several others that you can find when you start exploring the system.
For information on upcoming expansion of this system, see the section Coming Updates of the Vehicle System last in these release notes.
Commissioning a Vehicle
All vehicles have to be commissioned before they can be spawned.
The commissioning feature is planned to be developed further in the future, including designing vehicles by attaching various parts.
Commission a vehicle by using a Vehicle Commissioning Terminal. Such terminals can be found in selected cities, villages and outposts.
Customize Vehicle
The vehicle can be colored and texturized using the current coloring and texturizing system.
Spawn Vehicle
When the vehicle is commissioned it is possible to use the vehicle in the terrain (spawn it).
Spawn the vehicle for driving by right clicking the vehicle in your Inventory and selecting Spawn vehicle. Then place it on the terrain.
Pick Up Vehicle
Only the participant that has spawned the vehicle can pick it up. That way it will be returned to your Inventory. If you leave the vehicle out of sight for more than 10 minutes it will automatically be moved to the Storage Facility.
Use the Pick up action to return a specific vehicle you have spawned to your Inventory.
Use the Recall All Vehicles action, to return all vehicles you have spawned to a Storage Facility.
A vehicle in storage can be fetched from a Storage Facility through a Storage Terminal.
Grant Access to Vehicle
The participant that has spawned the vehicle, or has the right to spawn it, can grant friends different levels of access rights through the Vehicle Guests UI.
Edit access rights by right clicking the vehicle and selecting Open Vehicle Guests UI, which opens the Vehicle Guests UI.
Add a guest by dragging and dropping desired friends from your Friend List to the Vehicle Guests UI. It is also possible to drag and drop directly from an avatar's status bar (the green avatar symbol) to the Vehicle Guests UI.
Enter Vehicle
Enter the vehicle by right clicking the vehicle and selecting Operate.
Switch between seats in the vehicle by using the action Next vehicle seat.
Drive Vehicle
Vehicle steering is controlled with the regular movement keys.
To drive a vehicle, you need to fill the tank with oil, which is used as fuel.
The vehicle does not deteriorate from driving or collisions.
The vehicle will be submerged if driving it into deep waters. To be able to use it again, pick it up and place it on safe ground.
If trying to drive indoors the vehicle will automatically be picked up.
Add fuel by dragging and dropping oil from your Inventory to the spawned vehicle.
Damage to and from Vehicle
The vehicle will deteriorate when taking damage from attacking creatures, avatars attacking with weapons and Mindforce, and other vehicles attacking with mounted weapons.
As a subset to deterioration the vehicle is affected by its Structural Integrity (SI). The SI for a vehicle will be reduced by the same type of attacks as when deterioration occur.
When the SI has reached critical limit, passengers are automatically removed from the vehicle, which cannot be used until the SI has been increased again.
The vehicle absorbs hit points inflicted on avatars from creatures or from area damage. However, with a regular direct hit weapon, the avatar takes the damage if targeted directly, while the vehicle absorbs the damage if it was targeted.
Increase the SI of the vehicle by stepping out of the vehicle and using the Structural Integrity Toolkit on the vehicle.
Shooting from Vehicle
While positioned in the vehicle gun turret, a gunner can mount a mountable weapon. Shooting with mounted weapons can cause damage to other vehicles and avatars in PvP zones.
Passengers in a vehicle can cause aggression from creatures.
While in gun turret, mount a weapon by equipping it.
Vehicle Inventory
Each vehicle has a Vehicle Inventory, where items can be stored.
- Compensation for reinserting Mindforce implant from before 10.0 is handed out. If you are affected you will receive a message when logging in.
- Compensation for inactive hangars will be handed out. If you are affected you will receive a message when logging in.
Movement Changes
- Removed indoor speed limit restrictions.
Attachment Parameter Changes
- Skill Bonus on Attachments . The skill modification effect now have a clarifying tool tip. The attachment gives a bonus to the user's hit ability and it has full effect when the target is on maximum weapon range. When the target comes closer the effect decreases and it reaches its minimum effect when the target is in the immediate vicinity. Since the effect is variable the hit ability parameter display is not affected by the skill modification.
- New Parameter on Attachments . A new parameter has been introduced on laser sights and scopes. This new parameter gives the user a skill increase bonus when the attachment is attached to the tool. The skill increase bonus of the attachment will affect the skill that the tool affect. The number does not indicate an actual increase rate percentage but a higher number is better than a lower.

COMING UPDATES OF THE VEHICLE SYSTEM
The features included in today's release are just the beginning of the Vehicle system content. The development teams are already working with upcoming features:
- Boats. It will soon be possible to cruise the lakes and oceans on the planets of Entropia Universe. Several different types of boats will be available.
- Aircrafts. Rule the sky with a helicopter or aircraft. Enjoy fast traveling with your friends between different locations.
- Motor cycles, hovercrafts, tanks, sports cars and other vehicles you can drive on land.
The vehicle system is also the gateway to space, enabling for avatars to cruise around in space and visit various places and planets in space.
The commissioning step is a preparation for vehicles that will be possible to modify more than today´s models. This means that the users can modify cars for a more unique look with special and perhaps rare vehicle parts. This will also affect the vehicle statistics.
New rules will be added to the existing Event system, where vehicles will have a more prominent role. In those events the cost for using the vehicles and vehicle weapons will be adjusted for a much cheaper usage.
KNOWN ISSUES
- The in-game description of the Structural Integrity Toolkit is faulty. It says that the user is repairing the vehicle by using the tool. The correct description is that the user is increasing the vehicle's Structural Integrity.

Entropia Universe 11.1.0 Release Notes
The 11.1.0 Release Notes contains information on the reimplemented Mindforce system and, below that, information on general improvements and fixed issues in this release.
MINDFORCE
This release should be seen as stage 1 in implementing the Mindforce system. This first step is the reimplementation which currently includes basic functions, some are same as before and some are changed and improved. With this as a base we plan on adding further aspects and functions to the Mindforce system at a later stage.
We introduce the new concept aspect: an aspect is an ability that you can use with the correct chip implanted.
The intention when implementing changes to the old Mindforce system is to make the new Mindforce aspects more compatible with current weapons when it comes to usability and economics. To do this the concentration period has been rebalanced and two additional Mind Essences are introduced. One of these Mind Essences has no market value and can be bought from the Trade Terminal.
A new parameter - Cooldown - is introduced to be able to balance various advanced Mindforce aspects better. Cooldown is explained more in detail in the section Cooldown below.
Professions, skills, chips and implants have been converted to new ones, specified further down in these notes.
Note: All converted items have kept their TT values.
Changes have been made to deterioration to suite the introduction of the new types of Mind Essence and their values (see section below).
The new way of using the concentration period and the introduction of Cooldown means that some adjustments have been made, however, no changes have been made to any damage parameters. For many simpler Mindforce chips this means reduction or total removal of the concentration period.
- Synthetic Mind Essence, a new type of essence, that can be bought in the Trade Terminal.
- Light Mind Essence, a new type of essence, refined from the new loot item Diluted Sweat and the energy matter Force Nexus.
- Mind Essence, existing essence, refined from Vibrant Sweat (found when extracting sweat from creatures) and the energy matter Force Nexus.
In order to align the Mind Essence consumption with the system changes, the following changes have been made:
- The Mind Essence value has been divided by 100: where you got 100 Mind Essence per PED before, you now get 10,000.
- Mind Essence usage is multiplied by 100: if your Mind Essence was 7 before, it is 700 now
- Everyone’s amount of Mind Essence has been multiplied by 100: if you had 940 Mind Essences before, you now have 94,000.
- Chip profession level. Implants now support chip profession level instead of chip levels.
- Simplified implant usage. Implant capability works in a new way and always starts from profession level zero and continues to the specific implant's maximum profession level. This makes the implants usage easier since you do not have to switch implants all the time.
- Profession level check at equip. When a Mindforce chip is equipped the chip profession level is checked against implant profession level. The equip is valid if the implant profession level is higher than the chip's minimum profession level.
- Insert implant. An implant is inserted with the Payn-Inc Implant Inserter by attaching the desired implant to the inserter and use the tool, just like when implanting a Skill implant. The Payn-Inc Implant Inserter can be found on the Mindforce tab in the Inventory.
- Remove implant. Remove an inserted implant by using a Payn-Inc Implant Inserter with no implant attached.
- The Mindforce effect lasts for a given period of time. For your own avatar, this effect is displayed on your dashboard. On other avatars, you can see this effect displayed under the avatar status bar.
- The effect over time can have different strength in influence. It is possible to override an existing effect over time by applying the same type of effect with a higher strength.
- The counter for effect over time continues at log out and if any time is left at at next log in the effect is still valid.
- Effects over time are removed if an avatar dies.
- The Mindforce aspect Synchronization (former Focus) now protects against concentration disturbance over time instead of being a layered effect.
- Concentration period interruption is changed. If you are hit by other avatars or mobs, the already aggregated concentration time will now be reduced by a certain amount. This amount is diminished if the caster has an active synchronization effect.

New Planet Discovered in Entropia Universe
Today we proudly present the new planet ROCKtropia! That means that currently two planetary systems are available to you, consisting of two planets, one asteroid and one space station; ROCKtropia, Planet Calypso, Club NEVERDIE and Crystal Palace.
Entropia Universe is growing and ROCKtropia is set to be the first of many new and different planets that will be forming Entropia Universe. "Diversity is as important in the virtual world as it is in the real world," said MindArk founder and CEO Jan Welter Timkrans. "We are thrilled to see the excitement generated by ROCKtropia and the other planets coming online soon."
For more information about this milestone in the history of Entropia Universe, see http://www.mindark.com/.
Space Travels
Space travel is possible both between and within planetary systems. For example, you can travel directly between Crystal Palace and ROCKtropia or, within a planetary system, between Crystal Palace and Planet Calypso.
To space travel, log in and find a teleporter and select desired destination.
Tip! When traveling through space make sure to pack the items you want to bring in your carried Inventory. Storage facilities are specific for the planet (space station, etc.) you are currently at, meaning that if you store items on one planet and travel to another one, you cannot access those items at your new destination.
NEW FEATURES

- Besides being able to view information specific for different planetary systems, it is also possible to view general Entropia Universe information. To change to general Entropia Universe information click the link in the upper left corner and to change to specific planetary system information click desired link on the Planet Roster tab.
- Just as before, you click Launch in the lower right corner.
- Changing options is done through clicking Tools.

Fragments are items with very low recycle (“TT”) value which are used in various activities, such as Tiering and Enhancer manufacturing. The addition of the Nova fragment will change existing areas that use fragments. This is done to improve economic balance. Each fragment type has its own rarity level. Blazar fragments are more rare than the more common Nova type. With this update, Blazar fragments are used in the Tier system and the Nova fragments are used in Enhancer manufacturing, thus replacing the Blazar fragment ingredient previously present.
